The values of the 18th century Enlightenment are increasingly under assault. Separation of religion from the state is crucial for freedom of conscience everywhere. Yet over the past decades we have seen the slow intrusion of religion in dozens of countries, in India and Nigeria, in Russia and Slovakia, in Pakistan and Bangladesh, in Britain as well as in the United States.

People appear to have finally seen through the massive assault on reason in the 18th century, masquerading under the banner of reason but in fact a massive attempt to separate man from his Maker and somehow pretend that society and spiritual wellbeing are mutually exclusive; and to also laughingly call it The Enlightenment, when it’s true title is The Darkening.

"Whatever emerges, we expect humanists around the globe to gain strength from the knowledge that there are many millions of us united in the struggle in the defence of rationalism and the secular ideal."

“Whatever emerges, there are millions around the globe still deluded in the belief that they are pursuing reason and self-actualization, when what they are in fact pursuing is the denial of reason and of the fundamental logic that happiness can only follow spiritual harmony, which then inevitably leads to the secular ideal.
